World's End & Lots Road Big Local is looking to appoint a Big Local Community Development Worker. The Big Local programme in World's End and Lots Road, Kensington & Chelsea, will see local people help invest £1 million of Big Lottery Funding over 10 years to make their community a better place to live, now and in the future.

We are working with local residents and partners to start planning our vision. This is the start of a very exciting journey and we are looking for an exceptional person.

The post holder will work with local people in World's End and Lots Road to encourage their engagement in the planning of the vision and programme for Big Local funding. Reporting to the World's End and Lots Road Big Local Steering Group (soon to become a partnership) and employed by Chelsea Theatre, you will need to have experience of:

• Successfully organising outreach activity in a community;
• Community development work or relevant volunteering;
• Working with a diverse range of communities
• Working on own initiative with strong organisational skills
• An understanding of Community Organising and great communications skills
• Developing and delivering events
• Carrying out consultations and keeping residents updated on developments

Salary: £25,000 pro rata (for 0.5 week)
Hours: 20hrs per week for 9 month fixed term contract
